It’s summertime in the Heights! The weather is hot and there is nothing better than curling up with a great book in the shade. Heights Libraries offers a wonderful selection of both books and eBooks. If you aren’t familiar with eBooks, this summer is a great time to start using the library’s eMedia services!
As part of the CLEVNET consortium, Heights Libraries customers have access to the CLEVNET eMedia Collection. This collection allows library card holders to find and check out eBooks, audiobooks, videos, magazines and music right from their mobile devices or home computers. An eBook is a digital copy of a book that can be read on a computer or transferred to a portable device. Materials can be downloaded to Kindle, Nook, Apple or Android devices.
Advantages of eBooks –
Convenient Anywhere – Once downloaded, an internet connection is not required to read!
No Late Fees – Items have a specific loan period. When the digital item is due, it is automatically returned to the eMedia Collection. This means no late fees!
Don’t feel intimidated! Accessing eMedia is not difficult, but if you need assistance, the library can help.
Borrow an eReader – If you don’t currently own an eReader device or a tablet computer, you can still access eBooks by borrowing an eReader from the library. Both Nook and Kindle eReader devices are available for check out and are preloaded with bestselling adult and children’s materials. If you are interested in borrowing an eReader, inquire at the library or find additional information at: http://heightslibrary.org/digital-media/borrow-an-ereader/
